I am a post-doctoral researcher in the Institute for Gravitational Research (IGR) at the University of Glasgow. During my PhD I helped to develop an ultra-sensitive, miniature gravity sensor to be applied in areas as diverse as volcano eruption prediction to finding hidden tunnels. For details read this recent publication: Measurement of the Earth Tides with a MEMS Gravimeter or in this article on the BBC website.
I also greatly enjoy communicating science to public audiences: I was the winner of the Scottish final of Famelab, and the UK winner of the Three Minute Thesis competition. In March 2015 I filmed a documentary in the Faroe Islands during the total solar eclipse. |
